sturdycore™ is the base SturdyCloud uses to build custom software for small businesses. It can bring AI, accessible interfaces, business operations, and your preferred hosting into one product.
licensing and scale
One platform cost. No per-user licence fees.
A one-time platform cost gives your business a perpetual licence to run the latest sturdycore™ base platform version we deployed for you. Platform updates are included while you are an active SturdyCloud customer, as set out in your service agreement.
If you leave, you can keep using that version for as long as you choose. Hosting, monitoring, maintenance, security work, support, and future updates end unless we agree otherwise. You cannot resell or sublicense the platform, or offer it as a standalone commercial product. Third-party services keep their own licence terms.
sturdycore™ has no per-user licence fees. Run it on physical hardware, in the cloud, or across both. Your infrastructure sets the practical limit. When you need more capacity, we can add hardware or increase your cloud processing power. You choose when and how to scale.

Host it where it works for you.
We can host your deployment in Canada on infrastructure operated by SturdyCloud or on DigitalOcean infrastructure. If you prefer another cloud provider, we can deploy to Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services. Google Cloud support is coming soon.
We choose the provider and region with you, based on data residency, integrations, performance, and regulatory requirements. Before anything goes live, we document the provider, region, responsibilities, and controls.
Want the hardware in your own building? SturdyCloud can source, install, and manage it on-site. You keep direct physical control while we handle the technical work you have asked us to manage. On-site hardware and cloud infrastructure can also work together.

What is sturdycore™?
sturdycore™ gives SturdyCloud a proven base for building custom software for small businesses. We choose the capabilities your business needs, then shape the workflows, integrations, and day-to-day operations around the way your team works.
Can sturdycore™ add AI to an existing business workflow?
Yes. AI can help with knowledge retrieval, drafting, meeting notes, customer inquiry routing, voice reception, reporting, and workflow automation. We define each use around a clear business purpose, approved data, human review, and the systems it needs to connect with.
How does sturdycore™ approach web accessibility?
SturdyCloud builds accessibility into the work from the start. We use the four WCAG principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. For client-facing experiences, we design and test toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Final conformance depends on the finished product, its content, third-party services, and testing with representative users.
Can SturdyCloud pursue Level AAA for a focused accessibility need?
Yes. When a project focuses on a specific vision, hearing, motor, or cognitive need, we can select relevant WCAG 2.2 Level AAA criteria and add user testing for that use case. We agree on the criteria, user journeys, test methods, and evidence in writing. Level AAA is not a practical blanket target for every page or product.
Where can sturdycore™ software be hosted?

Yes. SturdyCloud can source, install, and manage physical hardware at your site. This gives your business direct physical control of the deployment. We agree on connectivity, security, power, backup, and support before the equipment is ordered. The platform can run on-site, in the cloud, or across both.
What do we mean by "We Build. You Own. We Manage."?
SturdyCloud builds and manages the solution. You own your brand, domain, first-party data, business records, client-specific setup and documentation, and the fully paid custom application layer. SturdyCloud keeps ownership of the sturdycore™ platform and reusable components. Your licence and exit rights are set out in the client agreement.
How is sturdycore™ licensed and scaled?
A one-time platform cost gives you a perpetual licence to run the last deployed version of the base sturdycore™ platform. Updates are included while you remain an active SturdyCloud customer. There are no sturdycore™ per-user licence fees. Your hardware, cloud environment, or mix of both sets your practical capacity.
